Personal-training guide
What happens in your first personal-training session?
Your first session with Lucy is an orientation, not a fitness test. You will talk about what you want from training, try a few useful movements and establish a sensible starting point together.

1. A straightforward conversation
Lucy will ask about your goals, previous training and anything that has affected your experience of exercise. You do not need a perfectly worded goal; wanting to feel stronger or more confident is enough to begin.
2. A few useful movements
You will try movements that help Lucy understand your balance, mobility, control and current fitness. These are observations for planning your training, not tests you can pass or fail.
3. A plan you can build on
Lucy uses what she learns to shape a progressive plan. Future sessions develop at the right pace for your body, confidence and goals, with exercises adjusted whenever needed.
What to bring
Wear comfortable clothes you can move in and bring water. If an injury, health condition or recent change affects your training, tell Lucy before the session so she can decide the safest, most appropriate next step.
Questions, answered
Useful things to know.
Will I have to do a very hard workout?+
No. The first session is about understanding your starting point. Useful, repeatable training matters more than leaving you exhausted.
What if I have never used weights?+
That is completely fine. Lucy will explain each movement and choose an appropriate starting level.
Do I need a specific fitness goal?+
No. You can begin with a broad goal such as feeling stronger, improving fitness or becoming more confident with exercise.
